MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties. Duties The primary purpose of this position is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer provides overall management for program integration/execution requirements for an operational flying aeromedical evacuation squadron (AES). Provides administrative oversight Of operational unit activities. Plans and organizes activities Of the aeromedical evacuation (AE) unit, ensuring that financial management, information systems, training and operations, communications,'administration and manpower programs comply with requirements and support mission Objectives. Establishes and executes mission, organizational, budget/fiscal, stamng, and flying requirements to meet prescribed mission capability. Responsible for compiling and validating operational, financial, and training data used in generating reports to ensure accuracy and timely submission to thc Numbcrcd Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, and other agencies as directed. Provides Oversight for assigned and issued Organization equipment. Develops, updates, and enforces procedures for automated data processing equipment (ADPE), communications, audiovisual, training, and operational in-flight medical equipment (IFK), and other organizational equipment items are accounted for, updated, appropriately serviced and maintained IAW Air Force directives. Oversees unit aeromedical training programs to ensure assigned personnel are adequately trained to perform operational AE mission. Plans, organizes, and directs training efforts. Determines scope Of training program requirements, directs forrnulation and submission of curriculum changes. Represents the aeromedical evacuation operations function to external agencies to include Wing, NAF, and HQ functional representatives, and establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships to further organizational goals. Provides squadron deployment/contingency execution oversight for mission accomplishment, including AEF tasking requirements and contingency capability sourcing in support of defense support to civil authorities (DSCA). In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Program Series 0301. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of aeromedical evacuation program operations. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents which govern the aeromedical evacuation program. Knowledge conducting studies, analyzing findings, and making recommendations on substantive operating programs. Knowledge in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of aeromedical unit effectiveness.

(GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Skills and Abilities

(KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of AE mission, command relationship* operational concepts, contingency, mobility, and plans requirements. 2. Knowledge of relationships between various USAF entities, MAJCOMs, and DoD in overall planning and execution Of military operations. 3. Knowledge Of command, control, and communication (C3) for worldwide AE. 4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; computer skills to generate data in spreadsheets and reports. 5. Knowledge Of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 6. Ability to analyze current or projected AE operations programs, and AE program management functions, principles, and techniques. Other Significant Facts: 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position. Incumbent must meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. The incumbent's regular assignments arc primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. Work schedules Will be so aligned to allow the individual to function fully on unit training assembly (UTA) weekends. 2.
