Summary The incumbent is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of administrative and customer support service functions. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) budget planning and monitoring, acquisition of equipment and supplies, assigning and overseeing work by Field Operations staff, supporting human capital activities, coordinating facility repairs, overseeing physical and information security, and other activities. Duties Lead staff assigned to provide a wide variety of administrative and support services and processes that enable the field office to function optimally by assigning work and establish priorities. Provides daily oversight, guidance, and direction of staff for a variety of GAO-wide business processes to ensure compliance with federal regulations and GAO policies. Interprets and applies procedures and guidelines related to administrative and support service assignments; serves as a technical expert in the method and procedures required to acquire goods and services for field offices as well as serving as the technical expert for GAO's business process. Determines steps to implement new and innovative support processes and procedures, both within the field office and across the organization. Develops and improves administrative/ support services and work methods; maintains contact with colleagues across the organization to explain and defend support requirements, obtain services, and ensure compliance with federal regulations, and GAO policy and procedures. Identifies and coordinates a variety of needed services such as facility repairs, bulk shredding services, excessing furniture, and upgrades of physical security. Serves as the liaison with contractors, landlords, service providers and other to ensure that the organization receives timely and effective service. Serves as the Security Officer for a field office's physical and information security programs and processes. Qualifications You may qualify at the BAND 2 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower level/band, equivalent to the AC-III, PT-I, PE-I, PA-I, CS-I or GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a wide variety of administrative functions and services such as handling routine building maintenance issues, applying physical and information security policies and procedures, and/or monitoring, maintaining, and reconciling an office budget. Prior professional experience must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse administrative activities, as well as the ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others.
