  • Department of Linguistics Winter 2027 Term Course: LING 201 – Introduction to Linguistics (3 credits) section 001 Course details: General introduction to linguistics, the scientific study of human language. Covers the core theoretical subfields of linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. Also provides background on other subfields including sociolinguistics, pragmatics, historical linguistics, linguistic variation, and language acquisition. Teaching Schedule : Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 01:35PM

An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material. Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs): Successful completion of at least PhD Evaluation 1 or equivalent experience. Experience: University classroom teaching experience or equivalent. Documented research experience in linguistic theory. Other: Successful completion of graduate level coursework that covers current issues in linguistic theory and its interface with related fields, theoretical foundations in linguistic theory, basic tools of linguistic analysis, and the development of argumentation in linguistic theory.
