- Analyze, plan, and evaluate directorate work processes to ensure the validity, accuracy, and propriety of operations.
- Review, analyze, and prepare a wide variety of documents, records, and operational reports to support leadership decision-making and management analysis.
- Review and analyze internal/external reports to develop formal findings, recommendations, and procedural adjustments aimed at improving financial processes.
- Coordinate with DFAS staff offices for support and services needed by the functional area.
- Position will serve as administrative support as well as analyst support to mission area headquarters. Qualifications Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-9) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience Defined As: analyzing financial and accounting operations to recommend process improvements; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with internal controls; and analyze the impact of laws and regulations on financial operations and recommending changes to ensure compliance. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Education GS-11 Substitution of Education for Experience: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
