Job Description Job Summary The Shipping Associate is a key member of Boyd’s Shipping and Receiving team at the Elkhart, Indiana facility. This is a full-time position that comes with a competitive benefits package. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment. As a Shipping Associate, you'll be responsible for accurately picking and staging products for customer orders, documenting transactions, and validating products to maintain our operational standards and satisfy our customers’ expectations. - Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify the accuracy of shipment.
- Unload and organize products using a multi-directional forklift.
- Compute amounts, such as space available and bin storage size.
- Prepare and stage shipments following picklist using determined units of measure, whether it be pieces or feet.
- Participate in cycle counting when necessary.
- Ensure that all required shift paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- History of safety in the workplace and solid attendance record.
- Past experience using multi-directional, side loader, or swing mast forklifts to move large, heavy, and odd-sized materials.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of common techniques for material handling.
- Good analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment.
- Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities under minimal supervision. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for an entire 8-hour shift, which may include: bending, twisting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
