• Assistant Professor of Art Education, CFS Professorial Posting End Date: November 8, 2026 *NOTE: Last day to apply is Saturday, November 7, 2026 @ 11:59 p.m. MST Position Start Date: 09/01/2027 Required Degree: PhD (preferred) in Art Education or MFA (required) in Art with prior experience in K-12 Art Education. The required degree must be completed by the start date. Experience :
• Two or more years of experience teaching and mentoring students at the college level is desired, but not required.
• Knowledge of and ability to teach curriculum development, assessment, and research in art education.
• We are seeking a candidate who maintains a strong personal art practice alongside their art education experience/research.
• The candidate should be conversant with issues in contemporary art and with current issues in education and in the field of art education, and be able to mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong teaching and mentoring skills. Duties/Expectations :
• Teach undergraduate and graduate-level art education courses.
• Mentor experiential student learning and research.
• Contribute actively to department and college governance and to the university, community, and the profession.
• Be actively engaged in art and in the field of art education, including the creation of scholarly and/or creative work in the field.
