About the Role The Electrical Integration Engineer owns the electrical interface between the Hive autonomy system and each customer vehicle. This person designs robust, serviceable electrical integrations suitable for demanding industrial environments. Responsibilities
• Analyze existing vehicle electrical architectures and interfaces.
• Design vehicle wiring harnesses, power distribution, grounding, protection, and I/O circuits.
• Select connectors, cables, fuses, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
• Define electrical interfaces between Hive hardware and OEM vehicle systems.
• Design CAN physical connections, termination, isolation, and signal protection.
• Produce schematics, harness drawings, connector tables, BOMs, and installation documentation.
• Validate voltage drop, power quality, continuity, grounding, and communication integrity.
• Support electrical safety reviews and fault analysis.
• Lead electrical bring-up and troubleshooting on customer machines.
• Guide technicians through harness assembly, installation, testing, and rework.
• Improve reusable electrical integration standards and components. Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience with automotive, off-highway, robotics, industrial, or vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience designing wiring harnesses and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of connectors, grounding, shielding, circuit protection, and EMC practices.
• Experience with CAN and J1939 physical interfaces.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD and harness design tools.
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and CAN tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems directly on vehicles.
• Experience producing release-quality drawings, BOMs, and build documentation.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work in customer facilities.
