Summary You will serve as a
Supervisory Administrative/technical Specialist
(PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER) in the
Corporate Operations Department
of
Naval Surface Warfare Center.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. Duties
- You will be the Deputy Public Affairs Officer for the Public Affairs and Congressional Affairs Division, within the Corporate Operations Department
- You will provide expertise and advice to Port Hueneme Division leadership on policy decisions, courses of action, and ramifications for internal and external communication.
- You will be planning, developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies to inform and educate key stakeholders.
- You will be leading/supervising personnel and managing resources to execute core functions including: communication assessment and planning, congressional affairs, command information. public information, news writing, editing and speech writing.
- You will develop the internal and external communication products, protocol, community relations, public release, media relations, crisis communication, social media, digital sign-age and content management. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and coordinating a public affairs program to analyze a variety of feedback from external and internal audiences in developing recommendations for management on the overall improvement of the Navy and Department of War public affairs program.
