Key Responsibilities Store Operations & P&L Ownership Full accountability for store performance — SLA adherence, order accuracy, fulfillment cost, and customer experience Own store P&L: manpower cost, shrinkage, damages, utility/operational expenses vs. budget Set and drive operational targets (orders/hour, pick-to-dispatch TAT, order defect rate) and review daily performance with the team Ensure smooth peak-hour/surge management, festive planning, and demand forecasting alignment with category/supply chain teams Drive continuous process improvement — layout optimization, workflow redesign, automation adoption Inventory & Supply Chain Own end-to-end inventory accuracy, GRN process, and stock reconciliation Coordinate with category/replenishment/supply chain teams on assortment planning, stockouts, and overstock resolution Monitor and control shrinkage, wastage, and expiry across categories; institute corrective controls Ensure compliance with storage norms (esp. perishables, fragile, high-value SKUs) Lead new category/private label rollouts at store level (planogramming, staff training, initial stock setup) People & Team Leadership Lead the full store team — Assistant Manager, Supervisors, Pickers/Packers, and support staff — directly and through staffing partners Own manpower planning: budgeted headcount, rostering, attendance, productivity benchmarks Drive hiring, onboarding, and training in coordination with HR/staffing partners Manage employee relations — grievances, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution — escalating and coordinating with HR/ER teams as needed Build a performance culture: goal-setting, coaching, recognition, and succession planning within the store team Compliance, Safety & Audit Ensure full statutory compliance — labour law, safety, licensing, hygiene/FSSAI (where applicable) Own store audit readiness — internal/external audits, safety drills, CCTV/security compliance Manage vendor and local stakeholder relationships (landlord, local authorities, facility vendors) Reporting & Stakeholder Management Own daily/weekly/monthly MIS and business reviews — SLA, inventory accuracy, shrinkage, P&L, manpower metrics Act as primary point of contact for cluster/regional leadership on store performance Partner cross-functionally with category, supply chain, HR, marketing, and tech teams on store-level execution of company initiatives Key Skills & Requirements Graduate/MBA preferred; 4–8 years' experience in retail operations, warehouse/dark store management, or quick commerce, with at least 1–2 years in a managerial/P&L-owning role Strong leadership and people management skills, including managing large teams and third- party staffing partners Sound understanding of inventory management, WMS systems, and retail operations metrics Strong analytical skills — comfortable owning P&L, MIS, and data-driven decision-making Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across internal and external parties Ability to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced, target-driven environment
