As a Program Manager I within PNC's Project Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The Program Manager is responsible for leading and governing complex, cross-functional programs comprised of multiple interrelated projects that support strategic business objectives. Operating within the Project Management Office (PMO), this role ensures program delivery through effective planning, financial management, governance, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to PMI, PMBOK, and Lean project management principles. The Program Manager oversees multiple concurrent projects with combined budgets exceeding $2 million and is accountable for ensuring program outcomes, benefits realization, resource optimization, and alignment with organizational strategy. This role serves as the bridge between executive leadership, business stakeholders, and project teams to drive successful program execution and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Governance

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex programs consisting of multiple related projects.
  • Establish and maintain program governance structures, standards, processes, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure program initiatives align with strategic business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings and provide program status reporting to senior leadership.
  • Drive program decision-making, issue resolution, and escalation management. Financial Management & Planning
  • Develop and manage program budgets exceeding $2 million.
  • Monitor program financial performance, forecasts, expenditures, ROI, and benefits realization.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to establish funding strategies and budget plans.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of program costs, resource utilization, and financial forecasts. Multi-Project Oversight
  • Manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects within a program portfolio.
  • Monitor dependencies, resource conflicts, schedules, risks, and milestones across projects.
  • Ensure project managers adhere to PMO standards, methodologies, and governance requirements.
  • Consolidate project health metrics into program-level insights and recommendations.
  • Drive consistency in project execution and delivery practices. Risk & Change Management
  • Establish program-level risk management and issue management processes.
  • Evaluate and manage inter-project risks, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Lead change management efforts to support organizational adoption and business readiness.
  • Develop contingency plans and corrective actions for at-risk initiatives. Process Improvement & Lean Practices
  • Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve program performance.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement standardized best practices.
  • Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement across PMO-managed programs.
  • Support organizational maturity initiatives related to project, program, and portfolio management. Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, technology teams, and vendors.
  • Communicate program status, risks, financial performance, and key decisions to stakeholders.
  • Influence and align diverse stakeholder groups toward common program objectives.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments and functional areas. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of program management experience within a PMO environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs consisting of multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Proven experience managing program budgets exceeding $2 million.
  • Strong expertise in project financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PMI standards and PMBOK methodologies.
  • Experience implementing Lean principles, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of program governance, risk management, and benefits realization. -Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with project and portfolio management tools and reporting systems. Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or strongly preferred.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred.
  • Lean, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience working within enterprise PMO environments.
  • Experience managing technology, business transformation, process improvement, or operational excellence programs.   • Leads a cross functional program/project team to ensure the execution of organizational programs in support of corporate strategy. Leads programs/projects requiring planning and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business. Typically, program size may reach or exceed $10m.
  • Assists with or manages the general and detailed planning stages of organizational programs; influences project decisions to achieve overall program goals.
  • Monitors the program budget while working to ensure success of the program.
  • Evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of the programs and recommends enhancements to programs based on results.
