Supervisory Program Manager

Summary This position is part of the Arctic Energy Office, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Program Manager, you will serve as the Director of the Arctic Energy Office (AE), the principal Departmental element responsible for advising the Under Secretary on all domestic and international Arctic energy issues. The AE's mission is to identify, promote, and mobilize resources for the rapid deployment of critical energy projects in the Arctic. Duties As a Supervisory Program Manager, you will: Lead the Arctic Energy Office by setting strategic direction, overseeing programs and initiatives, and ensuring long term plans, support Department of Energy priorities. Identify, support and oversee the development of advanced Arctic Energy projects to improve energy security, reliability, and affordability at domestic and national security facilities. Serve as the primary advisor to the Under Secretary and DOE senior leadership in complex Arctic energy policies, legislation developments and regulatory issues affecting domestic and international programs. Represent the Department in working with federal, state, local, international, and industry partners to negotiate, coordinate, and advance Arctic energy priorities. Plan and manage funding, staffing, contractor support and national laboratory resources to meet current and long-term program goals within established limits. Supervise a team of specialists by assigning work, establishing performance expectations, evaluating performance, addressing employee concerns and identifying professional development needs. 4 of the following Developing, implementing and evaluating long-term plans and priorities for large, complex energy and infrastructure programs related to Arctic energy. Overseeing major demonstration and technology projects including planning, schedules, milestones, and technical performance. Building partnerships and negotiating agreements with government, industry community, and international organizations to secure resources and support shared mission goals. Leading and evaluating senior professionals and project teams by setting expectations, assigning work and resolving complex problems. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.
