Job Description Summary: We are seeking applicants for an immediate Shipping Associate opening. This position pulls eggs for customers, combines egg pallets for orders, and preps eggs for shipping. Reporting to the shipping supervisor Job Description:

  • Pulling eggs for customers
  • Packaging orders to be shipped
  • Operating an electric or manual pallet jack (certification will be given) for loading trucks to ship orders.
  • Count and organize eggs according to flock, farm, date, customer order, or other established identification requirements.
  • Select and pull eggs for customer orders according to instructions, schedules, and established procedures.
  • Stage and prepare eggs for shipment, ensuring the correct quantities are assembled for each order.
  • Verify egg quantities during order preparation and report shortages, overages, damaged eggs, or other discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork associated with egg receipts, inventory, customer orders, and shipments.
  • Properly identify and handle eggs to maintain product traceability throughout receiving, storage, order preparation, and shipping.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing egg racks, carts, pallets, containers, and other materials as required.
  • Communicate with farm personnel and contract growers regarding egg pickups as directed by the supervisor.
  • Handle hatching eggs carefully and according to established procedures to protect egg quality and prevent unnecessary damage.
  • Maintain egg storage, staging, and work areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, carts, racks, work surfaces, and assigned areas according to established procedures.
  • Follow established biosecurity requirements when handling eggs, equipment, containers, and materials entering or leaving the facility.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), safety requirements, quality standards, and supervisor instructions.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable safety and biosecurity procedures.
  • Assist other employees and departments with operational activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous poultry, agricultural, warehouse, inventory, shipping, or production experience preferred but not required.
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; training will be provided for job-specific procedures.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills or the ability to learn applicable systems.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to accurately count and verify quantities.
  • Ability to read and understand basic written instructions, labels, order information, and work procedures.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and established work processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to report to work as scheduled.
  • Ability to work a standard afternoon/evening shift, can vary based on Egg hatching variability
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended or adjusted shifts when required by operational needs. . Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Regular handling and movement of hatching eggs, egg flats, racks, carts, pallets, and related materials.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, grip, grasp, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements associated with handling and preparing eggs.
  • Ability to lift and move materials associated with normal egg room and shipping activities.
  • Ability to push and maneuver egg racks and carts as required.
  • Work may involve exposure to poultry-related odors, dust, noise, humidity, and temperature variations associated with agricultural operations.
  • Ability to safely work around carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, and other moving equipment.
  • Required to wear applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all facility safety, sanitation, and biosecurity requirements. Employees working in the Egg Depot / Egg Room are responsible for following established procedures for the proper handling, identification, storage, and movement of hatching eggs. Employees must promptly report damaged eggs, incorrect counts, inventory discrepancies, sanitation concerns, biosecurity issues, unsafe conditions, or other unusual conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
