Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Engagement Coordinator coordinates and supports community outreach, education and public relations initiatives for HCESD 11. This role organizes community events and programs, coordinates staffing and event logistics, develops outreach materials, and serves as a point of contact for community partners and organizations. The Engagement Coordinator works closely with the PIO, HR, Operations, Clinical, and other departments to support effective community engagement and tracks participation and outcomes to assist with future planning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receives and evaluates community engagement and public relations requests; determines the appropriate level of District participation and approach based on community needs, operational considerations, available resources, and organizational priorities; and coordinates approved activities through completion.
- Coordinates staffing and operational support for community events with appropriate departments to ensure personnel and resources are available.
- Plans and facilitates District-sponsored community events and programs, including educational, recognition, recruitment, and outreach activities.
- Serves as a certified
Aha Cpr
instructor and coordinates community CPR courses, including scheduling, instruction, participant communication, and completion documentation.
- Coordinates event logistics from initial request through completion, including scheduling, vendors, materials, staffing, setup, communication, and follow-up.
- Serves as a point of contact for community organizations, schools, healthcare partners, outside agencies, and other stakeholders and responds to community inquiries and requests.
- Partners with the PIO to coordinate promotion of community initiatives and provides event photos, information, and content for social media and other communications.
- Creates community communications and promotional materials, including newsletters, calendars, flyers, graphics, and other event materials.
- Coordinates recruitment outreach with HR, including engagement with EMT schools, career fairs, and community partners.
- Tracks community engagement activities, participation, expenses, program outcomes, and other relevant metrics to evaluate event impact and support future planning.
- Supports outreach-related budgets and maintains event, project, and financial records as needed.
- Maintains outreach supplies and promotional materials and coordinates inventory and reorders.
- Coordinates and supports advocacy campaigns, public policy initiatives, and other assigned community engagement projects.
- Maintains regular communication with the PIO and appropriate District personnel regarding upcoming events, project status, outcomes, and follow-up needs. Communicates resource needs and recommendations when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in business management or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Years of Experience considered in lieu of education.
- Completion of a EMT Basic/Intermediate/Paramedic program and acceptance for certification in the State of Texas and maintaining certification, preferred.
- Maintain current Valid Texas Driver’s License
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR instructor certification
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
- Highly effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and maintain accuracy under deadlines
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, think critically, and make timely, well-informed decisions
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clear, professional materials.
- Must not have been excluded by the OIG to participate in federally funded healthcare programs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
