No other candidates will be considered.*** The Wilderness Medicine Fellow (WMF) will work as a junior faculty member of the Family Medicine department, this is one year temporary appointment. In this role the WMF will see primary care patients and may precept the Family medicine residents from time to time. This will encompass half of the fellows time. In addition the WMF will also work within the Wilderness Medicine Curriculum as a learner/teacher. The WMF (as learner/teacher) will work with the UNR Medical Students and Family Medicine Residents implementing their respective Wilderness Medicine curriculum. In addition the WMF will also spend half of of their time working with our respective partners. With our partner, Great Basin National Park, the Fellow will act as an extension of the Medical Director/Advisor. With all of our partners the WMF will provide medical knowledge but will also be in the role of learner as each of our partners will provide a specific learning environment within the field of Wilderness Medicine. Required Qualifications The Wilderness Medicine Fellow must qualify for Board Certification in Family Medicine or other primary care specialty and must be able to achieve full licensure in the state of Nevada.
