For our business, for clients, and for you Manager – Client Accounting & Tax (Qualified Expert-Comptable (DEC)) Overview The Manager – Client Accounting & Tax is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing the delivery of accounting, tax and compliance services in accordance with French regulatory and professional standards. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will ensure the timely preparation and review of statutory accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, corporate tax and related compliance obligations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client service. This position must be held by a qualified Expert-Comptable registered with the Ordre des Experts-Comptables . The role combines technical expertise, client relationship management and team leadership, acting as a key support to the Head of Operations and liaising with the Responsible Expert-Comptable on matters requiring professional judgement or regulatory oversight. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate clients and ensure the efficient delivery of accounting, tax and compliance services.
- Oversee the preparation and review of annual statutory accounts, tax returns and regulatory filings in accordance with French accounting, tax and professional standards.
- Ensure the quality, completeness and accuracy of bookkeeping, VAT returns, tax declarations and financial reporting deliverables.
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted relationships and providing practical accounting and tax guidance.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and offshore/shared service teams, ensuring appropriate quality controls and timely resolution of outstanding matters.
- Identify technical, compliance or client risks and escalate matters requiring professional judgement to the Responsible Expert-Comptable.
- Monitor client deadlines and workload planning to ensure consistent delivery and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and promote efficient ways of working across the accounting and tax function.
- Coach, mentor and develop junior accountants and tax professionals, supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of quality, client service, accountability and continuous development. Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Expert-Comptable (DEC) and member of the Ordre des Experts-Comptables .
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within an accounting practice, fiduciary or professional services environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of French GAAP, statutory reporting, corporate taxation, VAT and accounting compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio and coordinating multiple assignments within defined deadlines.
- Excellent review and quality-control skills with the ability to identify risks and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing accounting and tax teams.
- Commercial awareness and a strong client-service mindset.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
