Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Bandit Lanes on Ellsworth AFB. This is a flexible work schedule with no minimum guaranteed hours; however, you may work up to 40 hours. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages Duties Greets facility users and conducts facility tours for new users. Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of the recreation center. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Mans the customer service desk to include assigning lanes, accepting payment, operation control console, renting shoes, selling items in the pro shop, signing out recreational equipment, carrying out recurring group activities such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games and events, and self-directed leisure. Demonstrates and instructs customers on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction. Insures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreation center activities, rules, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of recreation center equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
