As a Technology Architecture professional at OCBC, you'll play a key role in designing and implementing innovative solutions that transform the way we deliver financial services. How you succeed To succeed in this role, you'll need to stay ahead of the curve in terms of technology trends and advancements. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop architecture solutions that meet their requirements. You'll also need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of technology solutions. What you do

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for payment capabilities across initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, exception management, reconciliation, notification, enquiry and reporting.
• Design payment solutions that meet business, regulatory, security, resiliency, scalability, performance, availability and operational requirements across domestic, cross-border, real-time and high-value payment flows.
• Drive payment modernization and migration initiatives, including current-state assessment, target architecture definition, domain decomposition, coexistence design, migration roadmap, cutover strategy, data conversion and rollback planning.
• Produce architecture and design artefacts including context diagrams, component diagrams, sequence flows, integration patterns, deployment views, non-functional requirements, security considerations and architecture decision records.
• Define detailed designs using domain-driven design, bounded contexts, API-first integration, event-driven architecture, microservices granularity, messaging patterns and reusable platform capabilities.
• Produce robust design for non-functional requirements including 24x7 availability, high throughput, low latency, idempotency, duplicate handling, message ordering, retry, reconciliation, observability and disaster recovery.
• Identify architecture deviations, technical debt, design risks and implementation constraints, and drive timely resolution through architecture, platform and delivery governance forums.
• Work closely with engineering teams throughout delivery, providing hands-on guidance on complex design, integration, coding, performance, reliability and production issue resolution.
• Promote a learning culture by sharing payment domain knowledge, architecture patterns, engineering practices and lessons learned across teams. Who you are
• Preferably 7+ years of experience in technology solutioning, solution architecture or application architecture, with strong exposure to banking and payment systems.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in microservices architecture, Java, Spring Boot, messaging (MQ/Kafka), container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and databases.
• Experience with domestic and cross-border payment rails, real-time payments, high-value payments, SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, payment status tracking and customer communication use cases.
• Good understanding of payment lifecycle across initiation, validation, enrichment, routing, screening, authorisation, clearing, settlement, posting, notification, reconciliation and exception handling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks, evaluate options and recommend pragmatic architecture choices.
• Ability to independently lead solution design from an architectural standpoint, challenge assumptions constructively and balance strategic alignment with delivery practicality.
• Strong ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly through written documents, diagrams, presentations and stakeholder discussions across business, technology and senior management audiences.
• Effective collaborator with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage trade-offs and drive consensus across business, architecture, engineering, infrastructure, security and operations teams.
• Thought leadership, mentoring experience, contribution to architecture standards, reusable patterns, reference architectures or white papers will be an advantage.
