Associate Scientist (12-month fixed-term contract)

As an Associate Scientist , you'll play a key role in advancing microbiology research that supports the development of innovative products. Working alongside experienced scientists and cross functional experts, you will contribute to meaningful research, solve complex challenges, and help bring new ideas to life in an environment that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. What will you be doing?

• Plan and conduct microbiology experiments and laboratory testing activities to support new product development projects.
• Work to agreed timelines and project schedules, ensuring research activities are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
• Analyse experimental data, accurately document findings, and prepare reports that include conclusions and recommendations.
• Present results and insights to colleagues, helping to guide future research and development decisions.
• Collaborate with wound biology specialists and cross functional teams to investigate and resolve scientific and technical challenges.
• Contribute to discussions around microbiological theory, research methodologies, and practical applications.
• Keep up to date with emerging microbiology research, scientific literature, and industry developments.
• Share knowledge and technical expertise with colleagues across New Product Development and the wider organisation.
• Build and maintain strong internal networks to support learning, problem solving, and knowledge sharing. What will you need to be successful? Success in this role comes from combining strong scientific capability with curiosity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. You'll be motivated by solving complex challenges, generating meaningful data, and contributing to innovative product development. Key requirements include:
• A degree in Microbiology or a related Life Sciences discipline, with relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience planning and conducting microbiological experiments, generating high quality, reliable data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results, draw conclusions, and communicate findings clearly through reports and presentations.
