Your Impact
An opportunity has arisen in Global Tax for a tax professional to review externally prepared tax returns and global income tax provisions primarily related to investment funds within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Goldman Sachs is one of the leading investors in alternatives globally, with over $4 trillion in assets under supervision and more than 30 years of experience. The business invests in the full spectrum of regulated and alternatives including private equity, growth equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, mutual funds and ETF’s. This position will involve significant interaction with Controllers and Global Tax as well as outside service providers (law firms, accounting firms, fund administrators), and will require strong tax and tax accounting knowledge of funds. - Review Subchapter M and Excise tax provisions, tax returns, and financial statement tax disclosures.
- Oversee/Monitor qualification tests (income, asset diversification, and distribution requirements) to maintain RIC status
- Manage the tax provision process, including the calculation of investment company taxable income, net capital gains, and deferred tax assets/liabilities in accordance with
US Gaap/asc

- Manage the calculation and distribution of excise taxes and capital gain distributions, collaborating closely with fund administrators
- Serve as a key point of contact for external advisors and accounting firms
- Liaise with various internal stakeholders including portfolio management, fund accounting, legal, and compliance teams, as well as tax colleagues both in the US and EMEA Required qualifications, experience, and skills
- Professionally qualified – CPA preferred
- 8-12 years post-qualification tax experience at a leading firm
- Knowledge of financial reporting requirements, accounting for income taxes, and tax disclosures for registered investment companies
- Strong understanding of the tax treatment of complex securities, derivatives, swap agreements, and foreign currency transactions
- Knowledge of fund level tax compliance as well as the impact and tax requirements of various fund tax structures
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence senior business stakeholders and make decisions
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Flexible and able to learn quickly
