Summary This position is located in the Defense Commissary Agency, Sales, Marketing & Policy Group, Logistics Directorate, US Equipment, property and recycling Division. The incumbent provides complex technical advice, assistance and support of the DeCA Order Processing Point (OPP), East Function, the support center for overseas commissaries. Duties As a Supply Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties: Process automated ordering, shipping, inventory, discrepancy, and payment actions for subsistence items. Maintain commodity availability by managing catalog information, monitoring inventory, and supporting the distribution network. Serve as a key point of contact for internal staff, regional offices, and commercial supply partners involved in overseas subsistence support. Resolve supply problems by researching discrepancies, tracing missing items, finding alternative sources, and determining corrective actions. Process emergency and special item requests and ensure packing, delivery, and receipt data comply with agency policies. Read the entire announcement before starting the application process. Qualifications To qualify for the Supply Management Specialist position, your resume and supporting documentation must support that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-07. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. A. Creditable specialized experience includes: GS-09 Applying supply rules and organizational procedures to support property and inventory work. Using established supply methods to complete routine tasks and resolve procedural issues. Researching documents and records to verify, classify, and locate supply information. Interpreting supply terminology and concepts to support property and inventory activities.

  • Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.   • Time after competitive appointment. as supplemental documentation. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess:

  • GS-09: Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade levels GS-09 and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-09.
