As a Control Manager , you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and compliance of financial reporting for our business in Belgium. As the Country Controller , you will have end-to-end responsibility for key financial reporting and control activities, working closely with Finance, Accounting, Business teams, our Business Service Center (BSC), Zone Finance and external auditors. You will oversee the monthly and year-end closing process, provide financial analysis and sign-off, and help ensure that our financial processes and controls meet both local and international standards. Own IT
. What you’ll do Financial Reporting & Country Control
- Ensure accurate and compliant monthly and quarterly financial reporting, covering P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, CAPEX and supplementary schedules .
- Review and sign off on variance analyses prepared by the BSC accounting team and challenge financial results where needed.
- Analyse and control the figures to be reported using tools such as Cognos, ZBB, SCFD and BI .
- Provide country-level business sign-off and functional supervision of BSC back-office activities across OTC, PTP, Treasury, Intercompany and General Accounting .
- Act as the key Country Controller and Finance point of contact for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the overall quality and compliance of Belgium's statutory accounts with local laws and regulations . Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Coordinate the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing process for Belgium.
- Prepare and communicate closing instructions and coordinate the different stages of the process across Business and BSC teams.
- Review and approve manual journal entries, provisions and other accounting adjustments .
- Analyse financial results on a regular basis, identify issues and drive corrective actions.
- Work with different Finance and Business stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure a smooth and accurate closing. Financial Controls & Accounting
- Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are properly reconciled in line with AB InBev policies and Belgian GAAP (BEGAAP) requirements.
- Review provisions, including claims and litigation provisions, and ensure appropriate reconciliation with the relevant legal tools.
- Follow up on defined benefit plans and pensions .
- Ensure correct calculation and accounting of shared base payments.
- Oversee the accounting treatment of acquisition and disposal transactions in accordance with BEGAAP and IFRS .
- Ensure appropriate systems and procedures are in place to safeguard assets and support effective financial processes.
- Participate in stock counts and impairment testing . Business Support & Finance Projects
- Partner with local managers, BSC, Zone Finance and functional teams to provide financial expertise and support business decisions.
- Lead or contribute to projects that strengthen controls and improve Finance processes, such as segregation of duties, Global Chart of Accounts implementation, LEAN process redesign and account reconciliation improvements .
- Drive standardisation of processes and calculation methodologies across countries where relevant.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, improve and strengthen Finance ways of working. Internal & External Audit
- Act as the end-to-end Finance contact for the external audit process , including preparation and analysis of the Belgium statutory accounts.
- Review and validate Finance-related internal audit findings before the audit report is issued.
- Discuss external and internal audit findings with relevant stakeholders and drive agreed remediation plans.
- Monitor audit issue closure and ensure actions are completed within agreed timelines.
- Ensure audit outcomes are appropriately reflected in the Internal Control Framework . Who you are You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, combined with around 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, controlling, audit or financial reporting. You have a solid understanding of accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, with knowledge of BEGAAP and/or IFRS. You are analytical, proactive and take ownership, while feeling comfortable working with and influencing stakeholders across Finance, Business, BSC and Zone teams. You are organised, solution-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Dutch and/or French is required. Experience with SAP, Cognos or advanced Excel is a plus. What makes this role interesting This is a high-impact Finance role with real country ownership .
