Principal Primary Engineer

The Opportunity Beca's Power team is seeking an experienced Principal Primary Engineer to provide technical leadership across transmission, distribution, renewable energy and infrastructure projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. As a recognised technical expert, you'll help shape some of the region's most significant energy projects while influencing technical strategy, supporting business growth and developing the next generation of engineering leaders. This role combines deep technical expertise with client engagement, project leadership and industry influence. In this role, you'll:

• Provide technical leadership, design assurance and governance across major transmission, distribution, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, developing innovative, practical and commercially sound engineering solutions.
• Lead the review and approval of complex engineering deliverables, ensuring quality, safety and technical excellence.
• Support business growth through client engagement, major pursuits, industry involvement and mentoring technical teams. About You You're a highly respected engineering professional known for your technical expertise, leadership and ability to build strong client relationships. You enjoy solving complex challenges, influencing outcomes and helping others succeed. You'll bring:
• Extensive experience delivering transmission, distribution and renewable energy projects, with strong expertise in high-voltage primary substation engineering.
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams, providing technical governance and delivering complex engineering outcomes.
• Strong client engagement, stakeholder management and business development capability.
• Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and a passion for mentoring and developing others.
• Experience in areas such as primary systems design, equipment specification, Safety in Design, constructability reviews, utility standards, and renewable energy or grid connection projects. What We Offer A career with Beca will provide you with:
