MLS NEXT PRO Assistant Athletic Therapist (Full-Time)

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer/Therapist to provide the Club’s day-to-day sports medicine operations and the health, safety and performance of its Players. Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist and working under the direction of the Club Chief Medical Officer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer/Therapist will provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation services while collaborating closely with the Club’s Medical Staff. The successful candidate will also support the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist as required and may assume their duties when they are unavailable or at the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer/Therapist and/or Club Chief Medical Officer. Pro team, with the potential to support other teams within the Club as required. Key Responsibilities Working collaboratively with the Club’s Medical Staff and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Assistant Athletic Trainer/Therapist will:

• Provide comprehensive healthcare support to Players, including first aid and emergency care, on-site injury assessment and evaluation, application of appropriate treatment modalities, rehabilitation, injury prevention programming, and medical referrals.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date Player health, medical, and participation records within the Club’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Order, monitor, and maintain appropriate clinical supplies, equipment, and inventory to support day-to-day sports medicine operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional athletic training room and clinic environment.
• Support the Club’s Medical Staff in promoting and safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of Players.

• Follow applicable occupational health and safety standards, including requirements related to bloodborne pathogens.
• Attend and participate in League-required activities, meetings, programs, and other medical or sports medicine initiatives.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required. Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Master’s degree in a health-related field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer/Therapist.
• Previous soccer experience is preferred. Licenses & Certifications Required:
• NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC) or Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) certification.
• Maintain certification and remain in good standing with the applicable professional certifying body.
• Current provincial/state license or registration, where required by the jurisdiction in which the Club operates.
• Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
• Maintain personal professional liability insurance. Preferred:
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
• Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES).
• Licensed/Registered Massage Therapist (LMT/RMT), as applicable.
• Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
• Certified Performance Sport Specialist (CPSS).
