Job Description The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for the Associate Dean, Research and Director, Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station (NAES) position. We welcome outstanding applicants with proven leadership who are ready to build upon the College’s strengths through development of research program priorities, policies and procedures, implementation and evaluation of research programs, providing recommendations for long-term plans for the NAES field laboratories and research facilities, planning interrelated activities, providing leadership and input on state, regional and national committees, allocating annual federal research funding, providing executive oversight for enterprise operations, ensuring appropriate stewardship of assets compliance requirements, and directing long-range planning for agricultural field laboratories, ranches, farms and research facilities. Required Qualifications Doctorate Degree with emphasis or major in any of the Agriculture and Biological Sciences areas and three years of related managerial and/or professional work experience. Related Experience: Research experience with a productive record of accomplishment as demonstrated by publications and major extramural funding; experience managing a research program equivalent to the level of department head at a land grant university or similar institution.
