Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Engineer Location: Kalamazoo, MI Shape the Future of Manufacturing We are seeking an innovative and hands-on Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and transforming ideas into practical manufacturing solutions. What You'll Do As an Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Develop, optimize, and support 5-axis CNC machining processes.
  • Create, troubleshoot, and improve CNC programs and post-processors for complex machining applications.
  • Lead and support automation initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with machinists, operators, programmers, engineers, and production leaders to solve technical challenges.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency through setup reduction, process optimization, machine utilization improvements, and workflow enhancements.
  • Support palletized machining systems and automated manufacturing technologies.
  • Use

to develop advanced machining strategies and CNC programs.

  • Utilize SOLIDWORKS to design fixtures, manufacturing concepts, and process improvements.
  • Support new equipment installations, machine validations, process development, and technology implementation projects.
  • Explore and implement innovative digital solutions, including AI, scripting, automation, and data-driven manufacturing tools.
  • Drive projects from problem identification through deployment and long-term sustainability. What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates who bring a combination of technical expertise, curiosity, and a passion for manufacturing innovation. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with 5-axis machining and/or CNC programming.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing automation systems and process integration.
  • Familiarity with Mazak machining centers is highly valued.
  • Experience with pallet automation systems or automated machining cells.
  • Working knowledge of

Esprit Edge

and/or other CAM programming software.

  • Experience using SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD platforms.
  • Knowledge of CNC post-processor development, modification, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience with robotics, machine tending, automated material handling, or industrial automation is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI, coding, scripting, digital manufacturing tools, or Industry 4.0 technologies is highly desirable. Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent technical training, military experience, apprenticeship programs, or relevant manufacturing experience will also be considered.
