Cutting Machine Operator Department Production / Manufacturing Reports To Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge Job Purpose To operate, monitor, and maintain cutting machines to produce materials according to production specifications while ensuring quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cutting machines as per production schedules and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting plans, and job orders.
• Load, align, and secure raw materials before starting machine operations.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate dimensions and quality requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and make minor operational adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished products using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Identify and report machine faults, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Minimise material waste and optimise machine efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organised work area using good housekeeping practices. Qualifications
• ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Production, or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. Skills & Competencies
• Knowledge of cutting machine operations and safety practices.
• Ability to read technical drawings and production instructions.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
• Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet production targets.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts when required. Working Conditions
• Manufacturing or fabrication shop-floor environment.
• Prolonged standing and manual handling of materials.
• Use of PPE is mandatory.
