Summary The primary purpose of this position to serve as a Data Strategy Developer within USSPACECOM, coordinating data strategies across the Department of Defense and US Government. Collaborates with cross-functional teams. Collaborates with business units. Defines data ownership, access controls, and data usage policies. Designs and implements data models, schemas, and structures to ensure data quality and integrity. Implements data security measures, access controls, and encryption protocols to safeguard sensitive information. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, Data Science Series 1560.BASIC REQUIREMENT:Education: Degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience (Data Science Series 1560 (opm.gov)). In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade (GS-05 TO GS-11) or equivalent in the Federal Service. General experience must include produces desired results, in the needed timeframe, with the appropriate level of supervision through the use of appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of the technical requirements of the job. Achieves, demonstrates, and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements. Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate. Takes and displays personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility. Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives. Leadership and/or supervision effectively promotes commitment to organization goals. Skills and Abilities

(KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Expert knowledge of data science techniques and methods used to conceptualize, develop, adapt, modify, and apply new models to resolve difficult problems and to achieve support for alternative solutions within the commercial and government technical community; skill in performing data management activities. Advanced knowledge and skill in a broad range of DOD or private sector C4 systems, data, big data analytics, machine learning, AI, cognitive science, programs, operations, strategies, tactics, resource and information processes, force structure, and weapons systems and analytical capabilities. Advanced skill in articulating and defending complex and sensitive issues with officials of diverse perspectives and often with different or opposing views; ability to negotiate and defend complex issues and gain executive support for new program concepts; and maintain strong working relations. Skill to lead teams composed of industry, government, and academic experts; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints; analyze, plan, and adjust work priorities to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Skill to perform data collection and analytic techniques in support of command requirements. Ability to develop and implement innovative approaches to resolve unusual/difficult issues significantly impacting command-wide policies or programs. Ability to solve broad organizational issues, implement strategic plans within and across organizational components, and ensure a cooperative teamwork environment. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure software development / acquisition, data security, risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk) and specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.
