Sr. Chemist

Sr. Chemist PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Sr. Chemist to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role would be located in our Toledo Refinery in Oregon OH. This position will use their experience and expertise to provide technical support to the Laboratory, Technical and Operations departments for the routine and non-routine testing of samples as well as the maintenance, calibration and operation of laboratory testing equipment such as Gas Chromatography, X-ray, GCMS, ICP and other related laboratory analytical testing equipment. Principle Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide analytical testing and troubleshooting support of the refinery processes and overall laboratory operations.
• Manage Analytical Instrumentation and Preventative Maintenance program.
• Manage Analytical Instrumentation Calibration program per ASTM, refinery and regulatory requirements.
• Manage statistical quality control program for various methods and instrumentation.
• Investigate, procure, install and commission new analytical instrumentation as needed.
• Perform or Coordinate vendor repair of assigned analytical instrumentation.
• Develop procedures and provide training to chemists/technicians on equipment and procedures as assigned.
• Provide non-routine testing support to various departments supporting refinery projects and operation.
• Develop procedures and methods to accommodate refinery issues including outsourcing and monitoring progress.
• Provide analysis and reports for completed support work. Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Science Degree with major in organic or analytical chemistry
• 5+years of refinery or petrochemical experience with at least 2 years laboratory experience
• Familiarity with industrial process safety, environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, product planning and scheduling.
