Description
Duties and
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately pick and prepare component parts according to work orders, pull sheets, and production requirements.
- Review daily dispatch reports to identify and prioritize kitting assignments based on production schedules.
- Gather and verify all necessary documentation, materials, and containers prior to beginning the kitting process.
- Properly receive, organize, consolidate, and put away component inventory in designated storage locations.
- Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices and optimize storage space by consolidating or downsizing containers when appropriate.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and locations to ensure accuracy throughout the picking and packaging process.
- Properly package and identify completed kits to maintain component integrity and ensure ease of use during subsequent production processes.
- Accurately document inventory movements, picking locations, discrepancies, and other required information on applicable forms and within the inventory management system.
- Review completed paperwork for accuracy and make necessary corrections in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify and communicate inventory shortages, discrepancies, damaged components, or other issues that may impact production.
- Transport and stage completed kits in designated production areas to support timely assembly operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as trained and authorized
- Collaborate with team members, production personnel, and management to maintain workflow and meet daily operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, inventory control, or material handling preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow work orders, pull sheets, and written instructions.
- Basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtraction, and quantity verification.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on inventory and order accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production demands.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company inventory management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience preferred; must be willing and able to complete company-required equipment training.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or mechanical lifting devices utilized when appropriate.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical industrial noise, equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Environmental Management
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures.
- Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations.
- Report any environmental concerns to supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
