Key Responsibilities This role will include dedicated onsite support at a Malaysian Contract Manufacturer to manage day-to-day execution of the Applied NEXX ramp and establishment of future business ongoing stability. The individual will act as the primary onsite execution leader, working closely with the contract manufacturer’s operations and the Applied NEXX team to drive material readiness, production flow, schedule adherence, issue resolution, and escalation discipline required to support the planned increase in output.
- Manage daily onsite execution, including floor-level production readiness, material status, manufacturing constraints, and open action items for active and planned tool builds.
- Lead daily production-floor scrums with the supplier and Applied stakeholders to identify problems, assign owners, drive real-time shortage resolution, and remove barriers to committed ship dates.
- Establish and maintain a single source of truth for tool-by-tool readiness, including CTB status, long-lead material placement, PO acknowledgement, supplier commitments, configuration alignment, ECO disposition, and schedule risks.
- Drive proactive escalation of material, quality, engineering, planning, purchasing, and manufacturing issues before they impact customer-committed dates or ramp milestones.
- Partner with Applied NEXX manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, planning, and quality counterparts to ensure execution plans support the ramp from the current production rate toward the required multi-tool-per-quarter output.
- Monitor the contract manufacturer’s capacity, staffing, second-shift readiness, training plans, layout constraints, and production-line maturity to support near-term and long-term capacity requirements.
- Promote disciplined project management, clear ownership, stable communication cadence, and an open, proactive execution culture.
- Interact with management to ensure that resources and attention needed to meet Nexx need by dates are allocated.
- Interact with Applied Singapore and Malaysia teams to seek support as needed. Defines clear project and program objectives, milestones, ownership, and resource plans for the contract manufacturers onsite execution model, ensuring the team remains focused on ramp readiness and committed delivery outcomes. Ensures assigned programs are completed against agreed requirements, with attention to schedule adherence, product/process specifications, cost, resource utilization, and timely closure of execution risks. Maintains disciplined documentation, status reporting, and cross-functional communication so that Applied NEXX, the contract manufacturer, and supporting functional teams are aligned on decisions, risks, actions, and escalation paths. Other Requirements: This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
