Job description : Assisting the professor with research and related duties in a project on faculty governance and fiduciary duties of university administrators. Duties will include preparation of critical bibliographies and literature reviews, case briefs, statutory review, citation checking, copy-editing, photocopying, and mailing Qualifications : JD/BCL candidate in Year 2 or above; Ideally, should be taking or have taken Business Associations or a related course; Good organizational skills and copy-editorial knowledge; Prior coursework in or knowledge of political or legal theory and philosophy, theology or religious studies, and/or history is desirable. Other languages (especially French, German, Latin, Spanish, Italian) also valuable Documents requested : CV, unofficial transcript, list or prior courses in related fields, one or two faculty references (may be from Law, undergrad, or Cégep). Hourly rate: $23.00 or more depending on qualifications and experience Weekly hours: 10-15 ___________________________________________ Description du poste : Assister le professeur dans ses travaux de recherche et les tâches connexes dans le cadre d’un projet portant sur la gouvernance universitaire et les obligations fiduciaires des administrateurs universitaires. Les tâches comprendront la préparation de bibliographies critiques et d’analyses documentaires, la rédaction de résumés de jurisprudence, l’examen des textes législatifs, la vérification des citations, la relecture, la photocopie et l’envoi postal. Profil recherché : Étudiant en droit (JD/BCL) en deuxième année ou au-delà ; idéalement, en train de suivre ou ayant suivi le cours « Business Associations » ou un cours connexe ; bonnes compétences organisationnelles et connaissances en révision de textes ; des cours suivis ou des connaissances en théorie et philosophie politiques ou juridiques, en théologie ou en sciences religieuses, et/ou en histoire sont souhaitables. La maîtrise d’autres langues (notamment le français, l’allemand, le latin, l’espagnol et l’italien) constitue également un atout.
