Training Coordinator

Job Summary Tarkett is looking for an experienced and strategic manufacturing Training Coordinator to join our growing team at the Middlefield, Ohio plant. In this role, you'll lead training activities across the site and help shape the annual training strategy for Safety, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), and general plant operations, selecting and designing the training methods and materials that keep our workforce skilled, safe, and ready to grow. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Training Strategy & Program Management

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the plant's training strategy and annual training plan.
• Design onboarding, qualifications, cross-training, and recertification programs; build curricula, lesson plans, job aids, and assessments.
• Conduct training needs assessments and maintain skills matrices to identify gaps.
• Maintain training records, certifications, and qualification documentation; ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Measure training effectiveness via assessments, feedback, and KPIs; report metrics and trends to leadership.
• Prepare and present training metrics, qualification status, workforce capability trends, and improvement recommendations to plant leadership. Hands-On Manufacturing Training
• Deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training on equipment operation, standardized work, and safety.
• Provide hands-on instruction in molding, finishing, equipment setup, inspection, and production documentation.
• Evaluate competency and readiness for independent work; coach, mentor, and give constructive feedback.
• Identify skill gaps and deliver refresher training; support cross-training for workforce flexibility. Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), ergonomics, 5S, and safe operating procedures.
• Support WCM, Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and root-cause problem solving.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Continuous Improvement teams to improve employee performance and operational effectiveness. Qualifications Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication, coaching, facilitation, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience including training, coaching, or workforce development or equivalent experience. Preferred
• Associate’s degree in business, or related field.
• Experience with SAP, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or ERP systems.
• Previous experience as a trainer, team lead, supervisor, or CI professional.
• Experience delivering classroom and hands-on manufacturing training, and developing training materials.
• Knowledge of WCM, Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO 9001; experience with skills matrix and qualification systems. What We Offer
