  • Byron Center, Michigan 49315 Position Overview Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other interns and C&S employees to expand your network, participate in professional development opportunities, and enjoy some fun activities! Responsibilities: ● Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department. ● Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation. ● Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency. ● Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights. ● Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies ● Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities ● Develop positive professional relationships across departments ● Complete special projects as assigned by your manager ● Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives ● Support initiatives and daily business activities that align the organization’s technology capabilities with its long-term business goals. ● Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and HR leaders to document and sequence their initiatives to enable business capabilities. ● Tracking ROI, value, and postmortem analysis of different projects. What we offer: ● Meaningful, hands on work experience tied to your course of study ● Opportunities for professional development through online courses and instructor lead workshops ● Dedicated mentor and buddy support to enhance your experience and provide shadowing opportunities ● Social events and team building activities and experiences with fellow interns and department ● Networking opportunities with managers and leaders across the organization ● Paid Internship ● 12-week internship from May to August ● Location: Byron Center, MI We’re searching for interns that are: ● Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university ● Will have completed their Sophomore year by the start of the internship. ● In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 ● Currently majoring in Computer Science or a Business discipline ● Proficient with Google’s suite of products preferred ● Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required) ● Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing ● Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. ● Able to work both independently and collaboratively ● Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities ● Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute Note: Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with C&S Wholesale Grocers (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT/CPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status).
