Position Overview CVS Health is seeking a Data Scientist to join its enterprise clinical intelligence platform team. AI is unlocking new possibilities in healthcare at an unprecedented pace, and that progress comes with a responsibility to build capabilities that are clinically rigorous, ethically grounded, and worthy of the trust patients and providers place in them. This role will analyze clinical data and develop AI and machine learning solutions that generate evidence-backed insights for use cases across CVS Health. The Data Scientist will work closely with experienced data scientists, engineers, product managers, and clinical partners to build, evaluate, and improve solutions used in production. What You’ll Do
- Develop subject matter expertise in clinical data and its application to healthcare problems.
- Explore, analyze, and summarize large structured and unstructured datasets to inform product and modeling decisions.
- Develop, validate , and improve statistical, machine learning, and generative AI solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
- Apply large language models and natural language processing techniques to extract, structure, and summarize information from clinical documents.
- Evaluate model performance and help monitor solution quality, reliability, and effectiveness in production.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and clinical partners to implement AI solutions.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and technical documentation that clearly communicate findings and solution performance.
- Apply CVS Health policies, regulatory requirements, and responsible AI standards throughout the model development lifecycle. Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or a related field.
- Experience using Python and SQL to analyze data and solve analytical problems.
- Experience applying statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, or generative AI techniques.
- Experience communicating analytical findings through documentation, visualizations, or presentations. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare, clinical, claims, or other sensitive data.
- Experience analyzing unstructured text with large language models.
- Experience with cloud-based data and AI platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with tools such as BigQuery , Vertex AI, Dataproc , or Cloud Composer.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team and work through technical problems with guidance. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Health Informatics, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $79,310.00 - $158,620.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. Our people fuel our future.
