The Robotics & Mechatronics Teams at Agile Robots are looking for a (Senior) Electronics Engineer (m/f/d) who will help develop PCB-level electronics for our robot arms, from safety-circuit design through to production-ready schematics. Responsibilities

  • PCB Design: Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams for production, from initial concept through manufacturing-ready output.
  • Safety Circuits: Design and implement safety circuits and fail-safe mechanisms for the robot's electronics, working within established safety requirements.
  • Component Selection: Select and integrate electronic components (motors, drivers, sensors, power systems) that meet the robot's performance and reliability requirements.
  • Test Development: Design in-house test devices and write test cases for the electronics subsystem.
  • Hardware Debugging: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electronics issues on the physical robot, working directly with firmware, software, and mechanics engineers when a fault crosses disciplines.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain electrical documentation, including BOMs, test procedures, and compliance reports. Essential Skills
  • Engineering Background: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience designing electronics for robotic or industrial systems.
  • Hands-On Build: Hands-on experience building and debugging electronics, including schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer, microcontroller programming, and signal debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Safety Standards: Working knowledge of safety standards for high-voltage and high-current electronics.
  • Power Electronics: Working knowledge of power electronics for robotic systems, including PMSM motor control, DC/DC converters, battery management, and thermal design for power components.
  • Communication Protocols: Working understanding of communication protocols used in robotic and embedded systems, including CAN, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet. Beneficial Skills
  • Harness Design: Experience with harness design and cable management for moving systems.
  • SolidWorks Electrical: Experience with SolidWorks Electrical for wiring and harness documentation.
  • Functional Safety: Experience working on functional safety projects.
  • Test Specifications: Experience writing requirements and test case specifications, and implementing the resulting tests.
