AI Driven Radio Access Networks Director The Opportunity: The Director of AI Driven Radio Access Networks (AI RAN) Product Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, building, and executing the organization’s strategy for applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to modern Radio Access Networks. This leader oversees innovation, architecture, and product development—advancing our product baseline and incorporating new innovations related to AI, sensing, and communications. This role collaborates closely with product management, customer delivery, and market teams as well as external ecosystem partners such as vendors, standards bodies, and research institutions. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. What You'll Work On:

• Develop and own the

AI Ran

product and innovation roadmap.

• Identify opportunities for product and solution differentiation to include those related to sensing, integrations of open weight models for optimized communications, and development, or integration of new RU products.
• Represent the

AI Ran

function in executive forums and industry collaborations.

• Lead the design and evolution of AI enhanced RAN architectures with a focus on developing new “AI for RAN” applications and innovations.
• Ensure alignment with 3GPP,

O Ran

Alliance, and other relevant industry standards.

• Partner with the security team to adopt new functionality and security baselines, incorporating new features related to secure AI.
• Work with Agentic and Physical AI teams to develop and host new Edge AI applications and workloads.
• Apply new agentic based applications to operate, secure, and optimize the AI-RAN network.
• Collaborate with procurement and vendor management to influence ODM vendor roadmaps and strategies in accordance with the roadmap and product release strategy.
• Work with customer delivery teams to successfully deploy and integrate the product and solution into customer environments.
• Establish KPIs and benchmarking frameworks to quantify performance, cost efficiency, and customer impact.
• Monitor emerging technologies across AI, automation, ASICs or accelerators, and cloud edge infrastructure.

• 10+ years of experience in wireless networks such as LTE, 5G, or 6G, satellite or cellular networks, and network architecture
• Experience with AI/ML systems and their applicability to wireless networks
• Experience leading large cross-functional teams and delivering wireless, satellite, or network solutions in the market
• Knowledge of

O Ran

and AI-RAN

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering Nice If You Have:
• Experience deploying AI/ML in telco or mission‑critical environments
• Experience with network automation frameworks, including SON or intent‑based networking
• Experience in standards groups such as 3GPP, O‑RAN Alliance, ETSI, or IEEE
• Knowledge of model development tools such as Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $185,700.00 to $345,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
