Assistant Branch Manager & Consumer Loan Officer

The Assistant Branch Manager & Consumer Loan Officer supports daily branch operations while participating in consumer lending. The role assists the Branch Manager with staff supervision, ensuring exceptional member service, and meeting branch performance goals. It also originates, processes, and closes consumer loans while maintaining strong compliance and risk-management standards. Key responsibilities include: · Help oversee daily branch operations, staff scheduling, and workflows · Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to branch employees · Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality member service and operational excellence · Serve as acting Branch Manager in their absence · Meet with members to identify lending needs and recommend appropriate credit union products and personalized financial solutions · Process consumer loans within assigned authority levels · Prepare loan documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage loan closings · Resolve member concerns with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy What you’ll bring: · Previous or transferrable experience in retail banking; supervisory experience is preferred · Prior lending experience · Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills · Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team Why join Dirigo: · Competitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; retirement plans; disability coverage; and HSA contributions for enrolled participants · PTO beginning at 22 days, and 11 paid holidays · Supportive and adaptive leadership, with room for growth within a mission-driven organization · We embrace the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and are united in making a difference in the lives of our members and communities · This is a salaried position, with a budgeted salary of $61,000 - $76,000. Final salary will be commensurate with experience.
