SUMMARY This position will focus on assisting with the growth, partnership development and innovation of School Market Distributions, Backpacks for Kids program and In-School pantries for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank by working with community and school partners. These programs provide fresh produce and perishable product, and shelf stable items to children and families in our six-county territory (Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Richland). This position will assist with building and maintaining partner relationships, program development and implementation and requires some travel throughout our service area. This position will work closely with the Children’s Program Manager and the internal team to coordinate and organize the logistics of 40+ School Market distributions per month, X Backpack for Kids distributions and the newly developed In-School pantry program. This position will assist with training and orientation of partners, maintaining documentation for compliance and providing best practice tips for all School Markets, Backpack for Kids program, and In-School pantry partners, while maintaining a high level of customer service. This position requires that one work well in a team atmosphere and be committed to a high level of communication both internally and externally. Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day assistance of the School Market, Backpack for Kids, and In-School pantry programs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to program partners.
  • Responsible for maintaining and verifying School Market produce distribution schedule and preparing necessary documents for inventory fulfillment and fleet delivery.
  • Record and report community feedback, questions and concerns. Create action plans for increased food literacy and issue/complaint resolution.
  • Verify and update partner information in database and product orders with scheduled distribution regularly.
  • Assist with feedback sessions, annual orientations, and trainings for all School Market, Backpack for Kids, and In-School pantry program partners.
  • Assist with maintaining up to date files and documentation on the program sites. Ensure that all applications, agreements, and required documentation by Feeding America, State and Federal agencies are updated on an annual basis.
  • Ensure completion of biennial site visits and inspections at School Market, Backpack for Kids, and In-School pantry sites in conjunction with the Children’s Program Manager. Requesting assistance from other staff when necessary.
  • Communicate any issues during site visits with Compliance Department so corrective action can be addressed and completed.
  • Maintain and update the school market, backpack and school pantry dashboards and other web features as needed.
  • Maintain required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies. Attends and participates in required educational programs and staff meetings.

  • Responsible for overseeing the collection of statistics to ensure partners are in compliance of monthly submissions and reporting of families served.
  • Assist the Children’s Program Manager with administering and compiling survey results, where applicable.
  • Actively support and champion initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. May participate in one of the following: LEAN council, Kaizen, 5S campaign or other process improvement efforts to support continuous improvement and improved processes within the food bank.

Supervisory Responsibilities N/A or description of duties. Qualifications High School Diploma. Some college course work /associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Three (3) years related experience in customer service relationship management, general documentation, file-keeping, and public speaking or group education/training preferred. Customer Relationship experience and Proficiency in Windows based computer software (Microsoft Office), with an emphasis on spreadsheets, word processing and database management needed. Able to exercise public speaking abilities in various internal and external relationships, including cultivation and networking to effectively work in an environment of highly diverse people. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary, including some evenings. Strong attention to detail is a must. ServSafe Certified required (Food Bank will offer training), Unencumbered Driver’s License and able to maintain auto insurance coverage under the Greater Cleveland Food Bank auto insurance.
