Emergency Department, Patient Advocate and Family Engagement Coordinator - Part-time, Evening/Nights

Primary Location Burnet Campus Department PS Emerg & Critical Care Admin Shift Evening (United States of America) Schedule Part time Weekly Hours 24 FTE 0.6 Employee Status Regular *Expected Starting Pay Range $22.79 - $28.53 *Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Job Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with patients and families throughout their Emergency Department experience.
• Provide compassionate support, reassurance, and emotional comfort during times of stress, uncertainty, or crisis.
• Conduct proactive rounds in waiting areas and patient rooms to assess patient and family needs.
• Serve as a consistent point of contact for families while helping them understand the flow of the Emergency Department experience.
• Assist families with navigating hospital resources, visitor expectations, and support services.
• Partner closely with Emergency Department staff, Charge Nurses, Protective Services, Patient Services, and leadership teams.
• Foster positive relationships among patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Promote patient and family-centered care practices and advocate for the patient and family voice.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient and family experiences.
• Gather patient and family feedback in real time and identify common themes or opportunities for improvement.
• Document interactions, concerns, and engagement activities as appropriate.
• Assist in tracking and communicating patient experience trends that support quality and operational improvements.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve patient, family, and staff experiences within the Emergency Department.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
