Facilities Technician-Canton

Description Summary/Objective The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the interior and exterior of all buildings as well as maintaining mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems. Primary Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all safety requirements (JSA, LOTO etc.).
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment (5S).
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility electrical, mechanical, and other facility installed equipment.
• Perform housekeeping functions and maintain the professional appearance of the property equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Facilitate office support by responding to all office work order requests (assembling furniture, setting up office rooms for events, etc.).
• Observe and receive training, instruction, and guidance on various facility operations.
• Operate and maintain facility floor sweeper and scrubber.
• Operate and maintain facility shrink wrap baler.
• Follow CMMS work request systems (work orders, PMs, and installing QR codes on facility and warehouse assets).
• Adhere to all safety protocols while operating forklifts and handling products in the warehouse, including wearing proper PPE and following warehouse guidelines for safe material handling.
• Perform other facility duties as assigned.
• Some overtime work is required periodically. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Requirements Education and Experience
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of facility maintenance experience or building maintenance technology degree or related field required.
• Familiarity with operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach-lifts, man-lifts) required.
• Knowledge of HVAC Systems preferred.
• Knowledge of fire/security systems preferred.
• Welding/fabrication experience preferred. Additional Qualifications and Competencies

• Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CMMS)
• Excellent attention to detail Work Environment This position will be exposed to warehouse and outdoors conditions including all seasonal weather conditions, traffic noise, automotive fumes, and cramped quarters. Travel Travel may be required as needed throughout facilities in Mississippi and Kentucky, as well as to conference and/or training seminars to explore future technologies and gain additional knowledge and experience within the areas of automation and maintenance as it relates to the scope of the position.
