Product Strategy Analyst
- New Customers (UK) Hybrid in London, UK We’re looking for a Product Strategy Analyst You'll shape how new businesses become iwoca customers – the sign-up flow, the documents we ask for, and the models that decide who gets funded and on what terms. The company Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are. That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed. We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive. The team The New Customers team owns everything from a business's first application to a funded loan: the application flow, the logic that routes each application, the documents we ask customers for, and the models that set loan amounts and pricing. The team is cross-functional – data scientists, analysts, and software engineers – and sets its own goals and direction. It partners closely with credit risk on the trade-offs behind every lending decision. Knowledge sharing is central to how the team works, supported by regular forums to share findings, and dedicated research and development time. The role As the Product Strategy Analyst, you'll run the projects that shape how new businesses join iwoca. You'll steer which experiments the team runs, weighing short-term gains against longer-term bets that compound over time, with customer lifetime value as your key metric.
- Judgement and strategy. You'll set iwoca's new-customer lending strategy, weighing trade-offs between speed, friction, risk, and decision accuracy. You'll identify drop-off points and commercial opportunities across the conversion funnel, and propose the initiatives that address them.
- Challenge and experimentation. You'll design, run, and interpret controlled experiments on changes to the customer journey and new loan features. You'll apply statistical thinking so decisions rest on evidence.
- Autonomy and growth. You'll manage analytical and strategic projects end-to-end, sharing findings and recommendations directly with senior leadership. You'll partner with the Team Lead to shape the team's long-term roadmap, with the expectation of growing into a Team Lead role yourself. The requirements Essential:
- Commercial analytics. You've worked in strategy, analytics, product, finance, or consulting. You understand how to use data to make commercial decisions on revenue, cost, or risk that the business acts on.
- Quantitative foundations. You have a STEM background (degree or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or similar. You reason about uncertainty and calibration, grounded in the underlying statistics.
- First-principles thinking. You break complex problems into their core parts, decide which to tackle first, and iterate systematically to a solution.
- Communication. You write and speak clearly, directly, and concisely. You adapt technical detail to your audience.
- AI leverage. You've built AI workflows, or used AI to produce analysis or prototypes beyond what you could deliver alone. You judge when to use it and when not to. Bonus:
- Experimentation. You have designed, run, and interpreted controlled experiments, including A/B tests, to inform product or policy decisions.
- Cross-functional delivery. You have worked closely with engineering or data science teams to get analytical insight into production systems.
- Customer journey analytics. You have analysed and improved a customer journey, balancing conversion, risk, and long-term value.
- Coding abilities. You can code for analysis, automation, or prototypes
- whether directly or via AI coding tools like Claude Code. The salary We expect to pay from £60,000 to £80,000 for this role. But, we're open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews. We prioritise learning and growth, and give people the autonomy to develop in the direction that makes them most effective. We're a tech company and believe in the power of AI to help us work faster and better.
