Waste Connections, Inc. is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our high-performing team in Altamonte Springs, FL. If you have experience in the Waste or Recycling industry, that’s a huge plus—but not required. We offer competitive pay, great benefits, and a $5,000 Stay-On Bonus to show our commitment to your success. 📍 Location: Altamonte Springs, FL (Orlando) 💰 Pay: $25–$35/hr. (Based on Experience + Overtime) 📅 Schedule: Monday – Friday, Every Other Saturday | 2PM to 2AM (55-60 Hours/Week) El 🔧 The Job:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel Trucks and Heavy Equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Use onboard computer systems to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Complete work orders and documentation using our fleet maintenance software.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site service calls.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment. ✅ Requirements:
- 2+ Years of hands-on Diesel Mechanic experience (Waste Industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of DPF Regeneration Systems (especially CUMMINS and MACK)
- Welding/Fabrication skills are a big plus!
- Must have your own tools.
- Comfortable working 2nd shift (2PM – 2AM)
- Basic computer skills for Diagnostics and Documentation
