suitable for telework or remote consideration under any circumstances. Duties This is a TERM appt (not-to-exceed 2 contract years). Term appts are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 2). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Employees selected for Term appts may be converted to school year or year long contract without further competition. As Education Specialist- CY-1710, wis responsible for planning, developing, directing, conducting, administering, and coordinating academic and curriculum-based programs at a Bureau of Indian Education School. May oversee all/specific academic programs (i.e., special education, STEM, gifted & talented, etc.) or student-supporting functions (i.e., dean of students, attendance, student discipline, etc.). Education Specialist is responsible for enhancing educational programs, developing curricula, and supporting teachers and students to improve learning outcomes. Typical work assignments may include the following: Develop and implement procedures for ensuring security and confidentiality of state-mandated testing programs and other assessments. Direct and oversee test implementation and monitor testing activities to ensure that procedures are followed and deadlines met. Provide timely support for testing facilitators. Consult with staff to provide appropriate testing accommodation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and students receiving special services. Identify, investigate, and address testing irregularities. Report discrepancies and disciplinary actions taken against students as required. Is responsible for the school assessment and criteria of evaluation for students. Develop and distribute statistical studies, analysis, and evaluation reports as required. Work with instructional teams to analyze test data and develop student achievement goals, benchmarks and objectives. Consult with administration and staff to develop, administer, and interpret evaluation guidelines and procedures. Assist educators with the implementation of individual student data folders. Maintain and ensure integrity of testing data. Ensure all materials and data are submitted within established timelines. Complete evaluation and compliance reports as required by federal and state programs. Develop, implement, and maintain an inventory system to track and monitor location of test materials throughout the distribution, return, and storage process. Compile, maintain, file, and secure all reports, records, and other required documents. Develop and deliver training for test administrators to ensure that tests are conducted and procedures are consistently followed. Deliver training for data use in the classroom. Organize logistics for scheduling and conducting all campus testing including distribution, and security May administer student-focused programs and procedures to address attendance, student scheduling, extra-curricular activities, and discipline which may require attendance of student and/or department meetings. This may include identifying and resolving non-academic challenges impacting students' academic success. In order to qualify, you must meet the education, licensure, and experience requirements contained in the approved job category for P.L. 95-561 described below. Education Requirement: Level 05: Bachelor's degree in related field from accredited institution. A Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate education field (or related areas such as those required under P.L. 95-142) with a minimum of 12 semester hours of course work in the particular area of specialization. Experience Requirement: Level 05: Must have two (2) years of experience must be in school administration, teaching, counseling, or other professional education experience Per Job Category Standard #02, Qualifying Experience

- must be gained after receiving the minimum required degree and in a position essentially identical to the approved professional job category, may be credited. Certification/Licensure Requirement: All professional educators must meet the certification standards for their position in the state where the position is location. Some agency/schools may require the incumbent to meet the regional accrediting association requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid State issued Assistant Principal (or equivalent Administrator) licensure or certification in the State where the position is located. Emergency and provisional certificates may be considered under the conditions that the State certification authority has issued those type of certificates. Applicants with valid State Certification in a State other than where the position is located may be considered. If selected, they will be issued a provisional contract to outline the requirement to obtain full appropriate Certification within two full contract terms.
