Bowling Center Manager

Summary This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Bowling Center on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement. Duties Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational and promotional programs and establishes, reviews, and evaluates food service, purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial condition of the center. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, minor and major construction and ensures that maintenance and preventative maintenance are performed on all bowling-related facilities and equipment. Coordinates with the Marketing Office for publicity/marketing materials to promote use of facility. Works with the Resource Management Flight Chief to ensure resource protection and internal controls are met. Writes and evaluates personnel position guides and descriptions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicants must possess progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work experience that demonstrates a thorough, general knowledge of management principles, practices, and controls. This requirement can be met by demonstrating progressively responsible experience in one or more of the business or operational functions typically managed by a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) activity manager (e.g., budgeting, retail, customer service, personnel supervision). Specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military bowling center is highly desirable but not required. This includes familiarity with the various operational phases of a bowling center, such as program organization, pro shop and food service operations, inventory control, and facility or lane maintenance. A Professional degree from an accredited College or University in Business Management or related field may be fully substituted for all general and desirable experience. Must be able to satisfactorily complete and maintain a favorable Tier-I background investigation. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
