Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $35.27 - $36.81. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. What you will be doing Job Description Inventory Technician Full-Time Tentative Opening Q1 2027*** Variable shifts Position Summary Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Technician to support the daily operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of implants and surgical supplies to ensure clinicians have the resources needed to provide exceptional patient care. The Inventory Technician partners closely with Supply Chain, clinical staff, and department leadership to promote efficient inventory management, accurate supply replenishment, and seamless surgical operations. Key Responsibilities
• Maintain established par levels of surgical supplies, implants, and inventory throughout the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
• Monitor inventory levels using electronic inventory management systems and communicate inventory concerns to department leadership.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against vendor packing slips, reporting discrepancies as needed.
• Stock and organize surgical supplies in designated storage locations to ensure accessibility and inventory accuracy.
• Assist with the daily flow and replenishment of surgical supplies to support uninterrupted clinical operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized storage environment, including proper disposal of packaging materials and cardboard.
• Respond promptly to requests from clinical teams using Vocera and provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, surgical staff, and departmental leadership to support inventory control processes, compliance standards, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy and support high-quality patient care. Required Qualifications Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree in Business or a related field preferred. Experience
• Previous experience in inventory management required.
• Experience working with surgical supplies, healthcare inventory, or within a perioperative environment preferred. Preferred Skills
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive customer service mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
• Experience utilizing electronic inventory management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Physical & Environmental Requirements
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and move inventory throughout the facility.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and transporting supplies.
