As an Automation Engineer (d/f/m) you will take on a key role in leading automation projects within dedicated engineering project groups on investment projects led by Engineering of Lek / Sandoz Slovenia. Your main responsibility will be to ensure efficient integration of production equipment with IT and OT systems, as well as to establish accurate and reliable flow of data from the shop floor to the enterprise level. You will work closely with project managers and area leads to achieve project objectives related to functionality, compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), all within the approved scope, budget, and timeline. Your key responsibilities:

• Participate in the creation of Process Automation User Requirement Specification (URS) and translate URS into detailed technical solutions for assigned systems, units, or equipment.
• Define or support the development of automation strategy for the site/Sandoz.
• Support vendors in identifying and defining appropriate technical solutions according to URS.
• Prepare project documentation , including design documents, configuration guides, commissioning, and qualification documentation.
• Organize and lead the Design Qualification (DQ) process for assigned systems, units, or equipment.
• Install, configure, and commission discipline components according to design documentation, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Execute and monitor project deliverables according to the project plan, including progress, timeline, and cost reporting.
• Ensure vendor compliance with predefined requirements and timelines, and actively contribute to work sessions. What you will bring to the role:
• Degree in Electrical/Automation engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering or operations type roles.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English and proficient in local language What we offer :
• Job location: Ljubljana and Brnik (Slovenia)
• Contract type: permanent contract with 6-month probation period
• Expected weekly working hours: 40
• Pay range (annual gross salary):
• Automation engineer II : 32.400 – 48.600€
• for candidates with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience
• Automation engineer I : 48.720 – 73.080€
• for candidates with more than 3 years of relevant industry experience *Salary at Sandoz is based on job level, qualifications, specific skills, and work experience. Fully proficient candidates are usually placed around the market median, less experienced candidates lower in the range, and those with strong or niche expertise higher. When determining placement within the range, we also consider internal pay equity and external market data. Our compensation package additionally includes:
• Annual bonus (STI) : percentage of annual salary
• Long Term bonus (LTI) : percentage of annual gross salary
• Vacation allowance : in 2026 it was €2,450.00 net
• Christmas bonus : in 2025 it was €2,100 gross

Vaša naloga bo zagotavljanje učinkovite integracije proizvodne opreme z IT in OT sistemi ter vzpostavitev učinkovitga pretoka podatkov iz proizvodnje do drugih poslovnih funkcij. Tesno boste sodelovali z vodji projektov in vodji posameznih področij pri doseganju projektnih ciljev povezanih s funkcionalnostjo, skladnostjo z dobro proizvodno prakso (GMP) in varnostjo ter zdravjem pri delu (HSE), v okviru potrjenega obsega, proračuna in časovnice. Vaše ključne odgovornosti:
• Sodelovanje pri pripravi URS (User Requirement Specification) za procesno avtomatizacijo ter prevod URS v podrobne tehnične rešitve za dodeljene sisteme, enote ali opremo.
• Definiranje ali podpora pri oblikovanju strategije avtomatizacije za lokacijo/Sandoz.
• Podpora dobaviteljem pri iskanju in definiranju ustreznih tehničnih rešitev skladno z URS.
• Priprava projektne dokumentacije (design dokumentacija, konfiguracijski vodič, dokumentacija za zagon, kvalifikacijo).
• Izvedba DQ procesa (Design Qualification) za dodeljene sisteme, enote ali opremo, vključno z organizacijo in vodenjem.
• Namestitev, konfiguracija in zagon komponent discipline skladno z design dokumentacijo ter zagotavljanje varnosti pri izvedbi.
• Spremljanje in izvedba projektnih nalog po projektnih planih, vključno s poročanjem o napredku, časovnici in stroških.
• Zagotavljanje skladnosti dobaviteljev z vnaprej določenimi zahtevami in roki ter aktivno sodelovanje na delovnih sejah. Vaš doprinos k delovnem mestu:
• Diploma iz elektrotehnike ali avtomatizacije (univ. dipl. inž., mag. inž., dipl. inž.) ali enakovredna izobrazba.
