See CESA 6 Values Here SUMMARY The Communication and Marketing Consultant will tell school districts’ stories and help implement their strategic plans. This position will celebrate, inform and inspire diverse stakeholders for public and private K-12 school districts and nonprofits that serve youth. The Consultant will implement strategic marcom plans with tactics across platforms including paid, earned, shared or owned media.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with CESA 6 agency and school district team members to achieve marcom goals and KPIs
- Meet deadlines while managing a variety of agency and district projects in a fast-paced and hybrid environment
- Audit communication/marketing needs and create strategic plans
- Execute strategic plans
- Write and edit content
- press releases, articles, blog posts, social media posts, video and radio ad scripts, website content, newsletters, annual reports and more
- Maintain social media content as needed
- Maintain website content as needed
- Take photos/video as needed
- Serve as primary contact with assigned districts
- Maintain strong agency/district/client relationships
- Attend meetings remotely and in-person on site as needed
- Commit to professional development and continual learning in evolving technologies
- Other duties as assigned Requirements
Position Qualifications
Experience, Education, and/or Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, marketing, graphic design or related field Required Skills and Abilities
- At least two years work experience in marketing or communication (preferred experience in K-12 or higher education)
- Portfolio of Marketing and Communications and/or design work required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred graphic design skills in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
- Strong customer service focus with commitment to build long-term relationships with districts
- Growth mindset with dedication to professional development and continual learning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and exceed expectations
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and revise projects as needed
- Ability to represent CESA 6 with integrity, humility, positivity and passion
Work Environment
/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work Environment:
- Ability to work in multiple settings, including varied agency, school or work-related sites.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-town travel.
- Ability to travel within the state for meetings, training and conferences, some which may require overnight stays. Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to communicate in person, via phone and in writing.
- The position must be able to communicate effectively.
- The employee is required to drive between schools and districts to provide direct service and consultation.
- The employee may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
