Job Title: Audiovisual Production Technician Department: Student Life | Ohio Union The Audiovisual Production will be responsible for leading the setup and operation of audio-visual requests in the performance spaces in the Ohio Union. The Audiovisual Production is also responsible to maintain a high standard of customer service while interacting with our clients in the Ohio Union through their communication and appearance. Duties also include maintaining AV inventory, storage areas and assisting the rest of the team on special set ups. Responsibilities include:
  • Setting up the room’s AV systems for client use
  • Hold a working understanding of the projection, lighting, audio and control systems in the conference spaces in the Ohio Union
  • Hold a working understanding of computers and presentation software
  • Be able to communicate with the clients day of the events about their AV needs as well as act as a liaison if any other department needs to be contacted for the client
  • Be able to lead a small crew of students, delegating tasks or providing training on equipment as necessary
  • Be able to successfully execute the events as prescribed
  • Working knowledge of performance spaces to be able to lead a crew of students to prepare for the events in the performance space.
  • Complete shift reports for event shifts to communicate information with full time staff.
  • Hold an understanding of event flow and terminology
  • This position will receive additional training in the operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Yamaha Digital Audio Consoles, ETC Intelligent Lighting Consoles, Video Mixers, and Crestron AV Control Systems.
  • Upon successful completion of the trainings, the Event Lead will guide a team of Event Technicians during events to accomplish the goals of the client.

Minimum Required

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. Desired Qualifications: Previous AV experience in a work or volunteer environment. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Target Salary Range: $21.35 - $24.88 The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.   • Technical, CAREER LEVEL: 2. 70% Management of event crew for set up, event run, and strike of the event as detailed by the Planners and AV Coordinators. Setups include but are not limited to event lighting, sound reinforcement needs, and digital video projection. 20% Maintenance of Equipment or support of other small projects such as organizing storage spaces or training other student staff on equipment operation and procedures 10% Other duties as assigned to support the events and operation of the Ohio Union.
