Summary: The Director, Cloud Platforms leads the strategy, engineering, and operational health of the firm's enterprise cloud platforms, spanning M365 Services, Azure Engineering, and Azure DevOps. This role owns the unified roadmap, engineering standards, and team leadership across the three pillars — ensuring a secure, reliable, and well-governed technology environment and meeting regulatory requirements. The Director partners closely with Application Development, Security, and Risk to maintain a clear boundary between building and provisioning platforms and running production systems. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required. Responsibilities: Strategy & Roadmap

• Own the unified multi-year strategy and roadmap across M365 Services, Azure Engineering, and Azure DevOps, aligned to enterprise technology strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new capabilities, licensing, and tooling investments across all three pillars, balancing innovation, risk, and cost.
• Ensure coherence and shared standards across pillars so that identity, access, and integration patterns remain consistent enterprise-wide. Compliance & Risk
• Ensure M365 configuration, retention, and archiving practices satisfy regulatory recordkeeping requirements, in partnership with Compliance and Legal.
• Ensure Azure infrastructure configuration, access controls, and change management practices satisfy regulatory obligations.
• Define and enforce the boundary between DevOps (building and maintaining delivery pipelines) and Operations (running and maintaining production systems), ensuring segregation-of-duties consistent with regulated financial services control expectations.
• Own audit readiness across all three pillars, including access reviews, change logs, retention/eDiscovery controls governance. Engineering & Operations
• M365 Services: Set engineering standards for M365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, Copilot); oversee platform health, information governance, and automation to reduce administrative toil.
• Azure Engineering: Set architectural direction and engineering standards for Azure infrastructure (compute, networking, identity, storage); oversee platform reliability, patch management strategy, capacity planning and cost management.
• Azure DevOps: Set engineering standards for CI/CD pipeline design, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), release orchestration, and deployment strategies; drive standardization and reuse of pipeline and IaC templates across engineering teams.
• Champion SRE practices (SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, blameless postmortems, toil reduction) across all three pillars to mature operational and delivery maturity.
• Drive automation enterprise-wide to reduce manual toil and improve consistency, speed, and reliability. People Leadership
• Hire, develop, and manage engineering leadership and staff across M365 Services, Azure Engineering, and Azure DevOps; define career pathing and performance expectations across all three pillars.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the combined organization.
• Establish clear, informal interface patterns (e.g., Senior Engineer coordination) across pillars to support cross-functional initiatives without blurring accountability. Cross-Functional Partnership
• Serve as the primary point of contact for cloud platform and DevOps matters with Security, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and business stakeholders.
• Represent Cloud Platforms in technology governance forums, architecture review boards, change advisory processes, and vendor management discussions. Budget & Vendor Management
• Manage the combined budget across M365 Services, Azure Engineering, and Azure DevOps, including licensing, Azure consumption costs, and tooling/professional services.
• Own relationships with Microsoft and relevant third-party vendors supporting the M365, Azure, and DevOps ecosystems. Basic Requirements:
• 10+ years of progressive experience spanning Microsoft 365 administration/engineering, Azure infrastructure/platform engineering, and DevOps/release engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a people leadership role managing engineering managers or senior engineers.
• Expertise across core M365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Copilot) and Microsoft Purview (retention, eDiscovery, DLP).
• Expertise in Azure infrastructure (compute, networking, identity/Entra ID, storage) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, including release orchestration and environment management.
• Demonstrated experience operating in a regulated industry, with direct familiarity with regulatory or comparable compliance/control frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience defining and enforcing separation-of-duties between build/delivery functions and production operations.
• Strong track record of building and leading technical teams across multiple disciplines, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for compliance, risk, and executive audiences. Preferred Requirements:
• Microsoft certifications spanning M365 administration/security (e.g., MS-102, SC-400), Azure architecture (e.g., AZ-305), and DevOps (e.g., AZ-400), or equivalent.
• Experience in financial services, broker-dealer, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience partnering with Legal/Compliance on litigation hold and eDiscovery processes. Success Metrics:
• M365 Services: Platform reliability and user-experience metrics trending positively; successful audit outcomes for retention, eDiscovery, and DLP controls; measurable reduction in manual administrative toil.
• Azure Engineering: Platform reliability metrics (uptime, SLO attainment) trending positively; reduction in change-related incidents; progress against SRE maturity goals.
• Azure DevOps: Improved deployment frequency, lead time for changes, and change failure rate; reduced mean time to recovery; increased adoption of standardized pipeline and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates.
• Successful, clean audit outcomes across all three pillars, including segregation-of-duties evidence.
• Team retention, engagement, and internal promotion/growth across the combined organization.
• On-time, on-budget delivery of key roadmap initiatives spanning M365, Azure infrastructure, and DevOps to
