Metal Spray Operator

About the role At Sulzer, we specialise in rotating equipment services, helping customers improve the reliability and performance of critical assets across a wide range of industries. Our York facility is recognised as a Fabrication and Machining Centre of Excellence, benefiting from significant investment in technology, equipment and capabilities to support continued growth and customer demand. We are looking for a Metal Spray Operator to join our specialist coatings team. What you'll be doing

• Preparing customer components for coating, including cleaning, masking and blasting.
• Applying thermal spray coatings using HVOF, Plasma and Wire Spray processes.
• Operating semi-automatic and robotic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conducting goods-in and in-process inspections.
• Reading engineering drawings and following process documentation.
• Managing powders, jigs and fixtures to support production requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet customer delivery and quality expectations. What we're looking for Essential
• Engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Strong focus on health, safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable
• Thermal spray experience.
• Metrology experience.
• Robot control experience.
• Engineering qualification and/or completed apprenticeship.
• Experience reading engineering drawings.
